Transitional Kindergarten bridges the gap between preschool and kindergarten. Our transitional kindergarten program helps young students build a strong foundation that will prepare them for success in elementary school by building their confidence, skill set and maturity levels. We offer our transitional kindergarten program as a way to prepare preschool children with a late birthday for the complete school experience of kindergarten. Parents can choose to send their kids for either the full-day or part-day transitional kindergarten schedule, depending on what works best for each family’s home schedule. Either way, youngsters will benefit academically from taking part in a transitional kindergarten program that is designed to support preschoolers who have their fifth birthday between September 2 and December 2. Children with a late birthday are often not quite ready developmentally to head to full-day kindergarten and may need some extra help preparing for this next step in their education.

We at Alpha Kids Academy pride ourselves on being able to offer a transitional program that serves as an appropriate bridge between the developmental focus of preschool and the more rigorous academic standards of traditional kindergarten. Our program is perfect for four- and five-year-olds with a late birthday who may need some extra skill-building lessons in order to properly transition to kindergarten.

What our transitional kindergarten program can do is help young students work on their developmental and social skills that may be lacking in comparison to older students who are transitioning to kindergarten. While curriculum at Alpha Kids Academy will also focus on academics like reading and math, it’s important that our students fully develop their necessary developmental and social skills in order to better self-regulate and learn in kindergarten.
